Booth Learning Development Centre was established by Kellie Burgess (formerly Booth) in 2008 to help people with learning difficulties in our community to reach their potential.
Kellie has studied and worked in the areas of education and learning difficulties since 1998 and holds a Bachelor of Primary Education in Special Education.
Kellie had experience of friends and family with learning difficulties which led her into studying special education. After teaching in special education in the public school system she realised that her passion was in helping people with learning difficulties. It became clear that these children were not able to have their difficulties remediated in the education system. She then pursued training and employment in Physiological Remediation.
Kellie has worked specifically in the area of sensory processing programs since 2004 and offers a physiological approach to remediating learning and behaviour difficulties for all ages.
Kellie is a qualified iLs Professional trained by Dr Ron Minson from Denver, USA who trained with Dr. Alfred Tomatis, who pioneered listening retraining.
Kellie is a Trainee Extra Lesson ® Practitioner, having completed 3 years post graduate training with The Institute for Learning Difficulties.
The Centre is located at Kellie’s home and she feels that this less clinical environment is more welcoming to her students.
